Lockheed P38-G Lightnings 42-12905 and 42-12928

A boggy day out last Sunday in Bowland with Pat and Mick - we found the crash sites of both of the Lightnings which collided in mid-air on a ferry flight and crashed on and near Dunsop Fell.

Those two Lightnings are on my short list to see next, and maybe the B-24 Liberator which is close by. There is also an Anson (N4919) at Wolfcrag about 5Km away but to see all four in one day is probably a bit too much, now that the nights are drawing in.

My own recent effort has been to see the Wellington (HX433) at Mynydd Moel, Cadair Idris. It involved a bit of scrambling being some 400 foot up from the base of the mountain. The highest bits I found were at SH 72774 13854.
